Wow ! I am so excited to be receiving this scholarship ! In a little less than 30 days I will be graduating high school in California, then come August I will be packing my bags and moving to Hawaii to attend Hawaii Pacific University. Although I am more than thrilled to be moving to this beautiful island, it is evident that the living expenses out there are not cheap. With this scholarship, I will be able to put it towards buying a new laptop for my studies. I have been meaning to buy one for quite some time now, I could just never find the money. A laptop will help me to complete all my college work (maybe while sitting on the beach) and allow me to stay in touch with my family back at home. Thank you so much !

My name is Lauren and I am originally from Michigan, but have lived in Tempe, Arizona since 2006. I just recently finished my last year of teaching 2nd grade with the focus on English Language Development in a Title 1 school in Laveen, Arizona. After 7 years I made the decision to leave the classroom to change career paths. I am very excited to start my journey towards becoming a speech pathologist. I went through speech therapy as a child and it really made a positive impact on my life and I want to be able to help others the same way I was helped. This is my second semester through this program and already I am positive I am where I am supposed to be. :-)
